A
Poetry Bout ™ is an oral sporting event, a competition
between two experienced poets. It’s a staged poetry show,
presented within a mock boxing ring, with a referee, ring girl,
judges, time keeper and round bell. Each of the two poets presents
one original poem per round for the designated number of rounds.
The poet with the best poems wins.

Referee Bruce
McIntosh reads the rules to 2000 World Heavyweight
Championship Poetry Bout contenders, Sherman Alexie and Bob
Holman.
